Film Deposition and Etching System Using ECR Ion Beams

Key Features

Equipped with two ion beams

By using the two ion beams for etching and film deposition, respectively, it is possible to alternate between etching and film deposition while maintaining a vacuum, without removing the sample from the chamber.

Adjustment of Ion Beam Incidence Angle

By adjusting the angle of the sample stage, the incidence angle of the ion beam relative to the sample can be changed, enabling oblique etching controlled to the desired angle.

Inert gases and reactive gases can be used

In addition to inert gases such as Ar and Xe, reactive gases such as O₂ and CF₄ can also be used as ion sources, making reactive etching possible.
